Norman Myles Kroll
Norman Myles Kroll (6 April 1922, Tulsa, Oklahoma – 8 August 2004, La Jolla, California) was an American theoretical physicist, known for his pioneering work in QED. Kroll received in 1942 his bachelor's degree from Columbia University after 2 years of study, having studied from 1938 to 1940 at Rice University in Houston. During WW II he did theoretical radar research (magnetron theory), during 1943–1945, at Columbia under the supervision of Willis Lamb and I. I. Rabi. In 1943 Kroll received his master's degree and in 1948 his PhD from Columbia University with Lamb as thesis advisor. In the academic year 1948–1949 he was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study, where he, with Robert Karplus, calculated the QED two-loop contributions for the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron. Ted J. Kroll (August 4, 1919 – April 23, 2002) was an American professional golfer. Early life Kroll was born in New Hartford, New York. He served in the United States Army during World War II, from January 1942 to November 1945, and earned three Purple Hearts after being wounded four times. Professional career Shortly after the war, he took a job as assistant professional at Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. He began a 34-year PGA Tour career in 1949. He won eight times on the tour, including three wins in 1956, when he topped the money list with earnings of $72,836. That same year he lost the final of the PGA Championship to Jack Burke Jr., 3 and 2. In 1954, Kroll became the third player in PGA Tour history to shoot a 60, joining Al Brosch (1951) and Bill Nary (1952). Richard Kröll (15 March 1968 – 5 October 1996) was an Austrian alpine skier. By 1984, Kröll managed to join a junior squad that is run through the International Ski Federation. From 1985 to early 1996, he obtained several achievements in alpine skiing He finished sixth in the giant slalom at the 1985 Junior World Championships and competed in four events at the 1986 Junior World Championships, bringing home the bronze medal in giant slalom and the silver medals in slalom and combined. Klaus Kröll (born 24 April 1980) is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from Austria. He specialized in the speed events of downhill and super-G and won the World Cup downhill season title in 2012.
